Welcome to Rocky Ridge Elementary, where we hope everyone has the opportunity to "ROCK" every single day! We hope you find our school to be a safe and inviting place to learn. This year, our focus is to CRE-8 (create)! Teachers are challenged to help their students learn and be creative by keeping in mind the following 8 practices we have been studying over the past few years: 1) Project-based learn; 2) Problem-based learning; 3) Integrating subject matter to tie together science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM); 4) Making learning rigorous and challenging; 5) Tie learning to real-life applications; 6) Remembering our I message of I will INSPIRE, INTEGRATE, and INNOVATE ; 7) The importance of collaboration between students/students, teachers/teachers, and student/teacher to learn and create; and 8) Using our new Project Lead the Way Materials (purchased with our $20,000 grant received last) which will actually bring together ideas 1-7!
We are also challenging ourselves with exploring new ways to show kindness within our school and community and trying to make ALL feel welcomed at the Rock!
