Bio

This is my twelfth year with the Hoover City School System and my 33rd year as an educator.  I teach second grade at Rocky Ridge Elementary School.  Before teaching in Hoover, I taught in the Birmingham City School system for twenty one years.  My first eleven years were spent teaching general education in grades three, four and five at both Lakeview and Avondale Elementary Schools.  In 1993, I began my master's degree in special education at The University of Alabama.  While attending graduate school, I taught Special Education at EPIC Elementary School.  Upon graduation, I received the honor of Most Outstanding Graduate Student in the School of OIOHI Special Education.  I taught an OIOHI self-contained class at EPIC School from 1993-2003.  In 2003, I moved to the Hoover School System and returned to general education where I presently teach second grade.

On a personal note, I live in Hoover and have three children.  I have 2 sons, ages 29 and 26 and 20 year old daughter.  I enjoy swimming, hiking, camping, traveling, reading, and refinishing old furniture.
